Desiccant Canisters: Frequently Asked Questions

While both adsorb moisture, desiccant canisters (or cylinders) are rigid, usually made of HDPE. They are specifically designed for automated insertion machinery, allowing for much faster packaging speeds compared to packets, which often require cutting and can jam equipment.

Silica Gel is the most common and cost-effective choice for general moisture protection. Molecular Sieve is recommended for products that require very low relative humidity levels (close to 0%) or are exposed to higher temperature fluctuations.

Yes. Our canisters are manufactured using FDA-approved HDPE/PP plastics and high-grade sorbents that meet USP <670> requirements for auxiliary packaging components. They are safe for direct contact with food and pharmaceuticals.
